Status Quo - Don’t Stop 1996

Project Overview:

Once again the mighty Quo hit the road with their special brand of rock'n'roll, and having already played to over 18 million people worldwide this was perhaps their most aptly named tour!

Having provided their live sound for the sixth successive year we were able to assemble an exceptional team of people for the tour; Andy Taylor and
Bill Irving operating front of house, with a Martin F2 system and Tim Franklin and Paul Tibbles operating monitors. Quo originally became familiar with the F2 system when Capital provided the sound for one of the four stages involved in the 'Rock Til You Drop' 1991 epic event - which allowed us to demonstrate our premium audio service.

Client History:

Status Quo has been with Capital Sound since 1991, making them our longest standing client. As well as promoting their material with 13 tours
they have performed at prestigious events worldwide such as the Formula 1 Grande Prix and the 'By Appointment' concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
The triple platinum selling band entered the Guinness Book of Records after successfully playing four British shows in 11 hours and 11 minutes. This 'Rock Til You Drop' event saw Quo play sell out shows at Sheffield Arena, Glasgow SECC, Birmingham NEC and Wembley Arena, raising £2 million
for charity. The marathon event took a year to organise and involved four stages, 60 drums, 200 amplifiers, 62 guitars, 165 cymbals, 12miles of cable, 50 cameras, 2000,000 watts of power, 25000 lights, 250 crew, 8 helicopters, 5 jets, 20 limousines and 16 police escorts! As the band has evolved so has their equipment; 1997 saw them move to a Martin W8 system and 2004 saw them take on the new Martin W8LC line array system.
